Day of reckoning

Well, I spoke too soon earlier today.  Malcolm officially figured out how to crawl today, and now I'm in a state of minor panic, because the things that finally motivated this guy to get from rocking back and forth to actual sustained forward motion was . . . his brother's toys.  Michael just spent 45 minutes saying, "Not for Malcolm!" as he scooted his toys around the room to keep them out of Malcolm's reach, but Malcolm was absolutely determined in pursuit.  In the lunges for Michael's blocks, he also knocked over a few towers.  Michael helpfully dropped some teething toys and other items in Malcolm's lap for him to play with, but Malcolm wasn't interested.  He wants wooden letter puzzle pieces, books with paper, and Thomas train track pieces.

So, we put off this moment for at least 3 months longer than we got with Michael, but seriously -- what do we do now?  You can't teach a baby this little to play with his own things, can you?  Help!
