A Christmas classic

We don't actually have a Christmas tradition of Santa Claus pictures, but I think this one is an instant classic of the genre, at least for our family:

We went to the Notre Dame Club's Christmas brunch last week, our first Club event in some time, and it was a lot of fun.  They had a photographer there so we actually got some really nice pictures from the event, which was an added treat.  Excellent food and nice to connect with some old and new Irish friends.

Joseph wanted pretty much everything in sequence: eggs, pancakes, potatoes, fruit, and anything else we had

Art projects

I'm about as far away from being one of those crafty Pinterest moms as one could be, and tend to let preschool provide the art project opportunities around here.  Still, every now and then I manage to do an actual little project, and I always encourage drawing and coloring.  A few weeks ago I decided to actually do one of those cool projects I saw on one of my Catholic mom blogs, and had the boys make rosaries for the Feast of the Holy Rosary.  Instead of chocolate chips we used Cheerios and Chex (or their Aldi equivalents :) for the Our Fathers and Hail Marys.  The boys got to glue all the beads (and eat some along along the way) and write or trace their names.  They had a great time and were very proud of their creations.  Malcolm later ate half of his after it was taped up on our unofficial Sunday School wall, so I had to take it down lest he eat any more Elmer's ... but it was fun while it lasted!

Malcolm also has been drawing these awesome "monsters" that look like grim little potatohead stick figures.  They are the greatest.  Recently he decided to add some monsters to our daily schedule, and also a "101" after music class, just because he happened to like those numbers, but the coincidence of where he put them made me laugh out loud.

Artwork by Michael

According to Michael, you can tell they are robots because they have five eyes
Birthday card for his brother.  The question mark was definitely deliberate, but I'm not sure why...

Dog-eared

Sometimes the boys come home with really cute little art projects from preschool.  Unfortunately, they don't usually survive long since the urge to tear paper runs strong in little boys - or at least in ours.  Still, the one Michael made today was very cute and so far it's still in one piece!  He was very proud of his puppy ears and asked me to take a picture with Snoopy.  So sweet.
