Fair day

One Wednesday in October we took advantage of some great weather -- along with free and discounted admission tickets :) -- to go to the State Fair with the boys, Uncle Ryan, and Aunt Nikki.  We had a lot of fun watching pig races, seeing the livestock, and eating some good food.  And Michael actually participated in a tractor pull race, which was pretty neat.  He watched how to do it carefully, and when they called his name he went out and pedaled his tractor as best he could.  He told us he felt excited to do it.  The ice cream sandwich later was also pretty exciting :)

Michael and Malcolm both LOVED when the cows actually mooed

Ice cream is serious business

Either that, or he was just really determined to stymie my efforts to get a real smile out of him.  Oh, Malcolm James.

State Fair

I'm behind on posting - it's been a busy month!  Here are a few pictures from our first family trip to the State Fair of Texas.  I enjoyed the livestock exhibits and car show a lot more than the games/carnival portions.  It was also nice to see the train exhibit and enjoy funnel cakes and random fair food.

So much fun ... time for a nap!
