Art projects

I'm about as far away from being one of those crafty Pinterest moms as one could be, and tend to let preschool provide the art project opportunities around here.  Still, every now and then I manage to do an actual little project, and I always encourage drawing and coloring.  A few weeks ago I decided to actually do one of those cool projects I saw on one of my Catholic mom blogs, and had the boys make rosaries for the Feast of the Holy Rosary.  Instead of chocolate chips we used Cheerios and Chex (or their Aldi equivalents :) for the Our Fathers and Hail Marys.  The boys got to glue all the beads (and eat some along along the way) and write or trace their names.  They had a great time and were very proud of their creations.  Malcolm later ate half of his after it was taped up on our unofficial Sunday School wall, so I had to take it down lest he eat any more Elmer's ... but it was fun while it lasted!

Malcolm also has been drawing these awesome "monsters" that look like grim little potatohead stick figures.  They are the greatest.  Recently he decided to add some monsters to our daily schedule, and also a "101" after music class, just because he happened to like those numbers, but the coincidence of where he put them made me laugh out loud.
