Michael's 5th birthday party was the first one we've ever done outside our house. He was so excited about his birthday in general, he'd been talking about it for months, but the sweet thing was he wasn't actually that ambitious about the birthday plans. He just wanted a cake, some presents, and for his friends to come. When we finally told him about the gymnastics center, he couldn't wait. He counted down the days and listed all the guests in order. At the party he handled everything very well - he couldn't get enough bouncing (on the trampo-LINE, as he calls it, which you have to admit makes sense phonetically), he jumped into the foam pit, and he loved the obstacle course. His friends were excited to give him their presents, and he was excited to hand them their favors and say, "Thank you for coming!" He really loved playing with his brother, cousins, and friends. Happy fifth birthday!
