Halloween was a low-key affair again this year, as we went to our friends' house for their little neighborhood parade and to play. The boys wore flannel shirts and cowboy hats to be cowboys, and Joseph fit perfectly into the little giraffe costume that Michael wore when he was a baby. This year we went trick-or-treating for about eight houses or so, and the boys had a blast. We were proud of Michael for using his "Halloween smarts" and telling everyone "Happy Halloween!" and "Thank you!" at their houses. In the past he would have been too shy to really get into it, but he practiced this year ahead of time at his KidSpeak class (and at our house too) and he did great! After trick-or-treat we "counted" the candy, which I put in quotes only because it was a pretense to take out any candy with nuts from Malcolm's basket. But there was plenty left over, and much candy was consumed by all. Happy Halloween!
